Rancho Cucamonga Children’s Music Teacher Arrested for Child Pornography

A young Rancho Cucamonga music teacher who is known to teach music to children was arrest and charged in court with possession of child pornography. The suspect is a 25-year-old male, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

The police report states that on Feb. 27 authorities from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department were notified of a Cybertip referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The report indicated that an unknown suspect had downloaded child pornography and provided them with the Internet Protocol (IP) address used for the download. The police started an investigation and had determined the address where the suspect had downloaded the content — a residence in the 6500 blocks of Napa Avenue.

Detectives issued and served a search warrant on April 4 and discovered evidence of child pornography downloaded onto multiple laptops and desktops in the home. According to the police report, Li was not home at the time of the search warrant but later willing came to the Rancho Cucamonga P.D. Dectiveties proceed to interview Li, which resulted in the arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center.

The very next day, Li posted a $25,000 bail bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear and arraigned on May 21 at the San Bernardino County Superior Court in Rancho Cucamonga.

Li works part-time as a music coach teaching percussion instruments and is said to teach at many elementary and Jr. high schools in the Rancho Cucamonga area.

The Sheriff’s Department has released Li’s booking photo and is urging parents and the public to help identify anyone who may have been harmed by him.
